Experts from MY FIT BRAIN always say “if you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.â€
"Try to make at least one person happy every day, and then in ten years you may have made three thousand, six hundred and fifty persons happy, or brightened a small town by your contribution to the fund of general enjoyment."
“IT IS BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVEâ€
Here are some tips that will help you give not until it hurts, but until it feels great:
Find Your passion
It is not how much we give, but how much we put into giving. It’s only natural that we will care our passion need more about giving and that’s OK.
Give your time
The gift of time is often more valuable to the receiver and more satisfying for the giver than the gift of money. We don’t have the same amount of money, but we all do have time on our hands and can give some of this time to help others
Give to organizations with transparent aims and results:
we all join company for self-improvement and earn money but fulfilling the aims of organization selflessly ultimately raises your standards as well as internal satisfaction
Find ways to integrate your interests and skills with the needs of others
“Selfless giving, in the absence of self-appraisals, easily becomes overwhelming.â€
Be proactive, not reactive
We have all felt the dread that comes from being forced to help them, especially when friends ask us to donate to their funds in need.
Only to get something back each time we gave, what a dreadful, opportunistic world this would be! Yet we are feeling guilt-tripped into giving, chances are we will not be very committed over time to the cause.

Helping others is not only good for them and a good thing to do, but it also makes us happier and healthier too. Giving also connects us to others, creating stronger communities and helping to build a happier society for everyone. And it's not all about money - we can also give our time, ideas and energy. So if you want to feel good, do well!
Doing things for others - whether small, unplanned acts or regular volunteering - is a powerful way to boost our own happiness as well of those around us. The people we help may be strangers, family, friends, colleagues or neighbours. They can be old or young, nearby or far away.
Giving isn't just about money, so you don't need to be rich. Giving to others can be as simple as a single kind word, smile or a thoughtful gesture. It can include giving time, care, skills, thought or attention. Sometimes these mean as much, if not more, than financial gifts.
Scientific studies show that helping others boosts happiness. It increases life satisfaction, provides a sense of meaning, increases feelings of competence, improves our mood and reduced stress. It can help to take our minds off our own troubles too.
Kindness towards others is the glue which connects individual happiness with the wider community and societal wellbeing. Giving to others helps us connect with people and meets one of our basic human needs - relatedness.
Kindness and caring also seem to be contagious. When we see someone do something kind or thoughtful, or we are on the receiving end of kindness, it inspires us to be kinder ourselves. In this way, kindness spreads from one person to the next, influencing the behavior of people who never saw the original act. Kindness really is the key to creating a happier, more trusting local community.
Kindness Makes You Happy… and Happiness Makes You Kind
